FAQ

Questions we get asked

The things people want to know before they book. Can't see yours? Ask us, we don't mind.

Booking & hire

Which areas do you cover?

The whole UK. We're based in Rochester, Kent, and travel to events across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

My event is a long way from Kent. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Send us the date and venue as early as you can, so we can plan the travel and set-up time properly.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends and December, which fill up first. Smaller hires can often be sorted at shorter notice, so send us your date either way.

Can I just hire the equipment and run it myself?

Yes. Dry hire means you collect the kit, set it up and return it. We'll show you how it works before it leaves, and we only hand out kit we've tested.

Do you deliver, set up and collect?

We can. Add delivery, set-up, a sound check and collection to any hire, and we'll fit our timings around your venue's access times.

Can you provide an engineer for the whole event?

Yes. An engineer can stay from sound check to pack-down to keep everything sounding right and sort anything unexpected, so you can enjoy the night.

What do you need to know to give me a quote?

Your date, venue, rough guest numbers, start and finish times, and what's happening on the night: speeches, a band, a DJ, presentations or a live stream. Photos of the room help too.

What about power at my venue?

We'll ask about the sockets and circuits available when we spec your event. Bigger rigs can need dedicated power, and we'll flag that early rather than on the day.

Can you work with my band's or venue's own equipment?

Yes. We can add to an in-house system, provide just the parts that are missing, or bring a complete rig if that's simpler.

Do you do outdoor events?

Yes. Outdoor shows need extra planning for power, weather and local sound limits, so tell us as much as you can about the site and we'll build the plan around it.

Services

Do I need an engineer, or just the speakers?

For a playlist, speakers on their own are fine. With live mics, a band or speeches, an engineer is worth it to keep everything sounding right.

Do you need to see the venue?

Not always. Photos, a floor plan and the venue's technical details are often enough, and for bigger shows we may visit first.

Does the song need to be finished first?

No. Many tracks start as a rough idea. We can help shape it, or simply record and mix what you have.

Can we hear the band before we book?

Yes. Ask us and we'll share recordings or videos of the acts we suggest.

Events

Our venue has a volume limit. Is that a problem?

Usually not. Send us the limit or put us in touch with the venue, and we'll set things up so the party keeps going without going over it.

What do you need from us before the gig?

The venue, capacity, set times and a list of who plays what. If you don't have a stage plan, we'll work one out with you.

Can you play the sound from our videos?

Yes. Send your videos ahead and we'll check the sound plays cleanly. On the day, we bring it in on cue.

Do you provide the power?

We plan the power the stage needs and work with your generator or site supplier to get it right. Tell us early what's on site.

Can I run the kit myself?

Yes. Collect the speakers and mics and we'll show you how they connect.

Our building echoes a lot. Can you help?

Yes. The fix is usually better speaker placement and the right speakers, not more volume. We'll look at the space first.
